On 25th April 2025, a visit was organised for Electrical Engineering students at “220KV Mota Substation” Surat. Total 24 students and 3 faculties of Electrical Engineering Department visited the Substation. Students will get familiar with Transformer maintenance, circuit breaker, Transformer isolator, bus bar, Protective relays, Lightening arresters, Load break switches, Current and voltage Transformer and Battery room. The equipment required for a transformer, Sub-Station depends upon the type of Sub-Station, Service requirement and the degree of protection desired. 220KV Sub-Station has the equipments like Bus-bar, Insulators, Isolating Switches, Circuit breaker, Protective relay, Current Transformer, Potential Transformer, Metering and Indicating Instrument, Single line Diagram of Substation, Transformer, Lightening arrestors, Line isolator.

Industrial visit was carried out at JK Paper Ltd., Songadh on 13^th March 2025 for 3^rd, 5^th and 7^th semester of Electrical Engineering students under the banner of ISTE. The main objective behind the visit was to make the student aware how various activities and processes are carried out in the Industry. JK Paper Ltd.'s Central Pulp Mills (CPM) in Songadh, District Tapi, Gujarat, is a key integrated pulp and paper manufacturing unit for the company. JK Paper has undergone significant modernization and expansion, positioning it as a major player in the Western Indian market, particularly in the production of Packaging Boards and Writing & Printing Papers.

On 11th March 2026, An Industrial Visit to Groupnish Automation was organised for Electrical & Mechanical Engineering students at Groupnish, Hojiwala Sachin, Surat. Total 45 students of Electrical & Mechanical Engineering Department visited. During the visit, the students were guided by engineers from Groupnish who explained different departments and processes. The visit began with an introduction about the company, its history, and the services it provides in the field of automation. Students observed the manufacturing and wiring of electrical control panels used in industries. Engineers explained about panel layout design, selection of circuit breakers, relays, and contactors, proper wiring techniques and labelling and safety precautions. The industrial visit to Groupnish Automation at Sachin Hojiwala was highly informative and beneficial. It helped students connect theoretical knowledge with practical industrial applications. Such visits are very useful for engineering students to understand modern industrial technologies and improve their technical knowledge.

Shree Khedut Sahakari Khand Udyog Mandli Ltd., located in Bardoli, Gujarat, is a prominent sugar cooperative established in 1955. It was founded to empower local farmers by providing fair prices for sugarcane and promoting cooperative farming. The factory not only processes sugarcane into sugar but also produces by- products like ethanol and electricity through co-generation. Over the years, it has significantly contributed to rural development, employment, and agricultural progress in the region. The Mandli operates on cooperative principles, ensuring farmer participation indecision-making. It success symbolizes the strength of unity and self-reliance among farmers in post independence India.

Industrial visit was carried out at Atul Ltd., Valsad on 27th March 2025 for 2nd, 4th and 6th semester of Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering students under the banner of IIChE-ARC, AIChE and ISTE. Atul was founded on September 05, 1947 – a month after Indian independence – by Kasturbhai Lalbhai, an institution builder par excellence and a legendary Indian of his times. An industrial visit to Atul Ltd., offers valuable insights into the operations of a large, diversified chemical company. The Company was a manifestation of his dream to generate large-scale employment, create wealth in rural India and make the country self-sufficient in its requirements of chemicals. The main objective behind the visit was to make the student aware how various activities and processes are carried out in the Industry. Gujarat State Electricity Corporation Limited (GSECL) was incorporated in August 1993 and is registered under the Companies Act, 1956 with the objectives to initiate a process of restructuring of Power Sector and to mobilize resources from the market for adding to the generating capacity of the State and improving the quality and cost of existing generation. The Company was promoted by erstwhile Gujarat Electricity Board (GEB) as it's wholly owned subsidiary in the context of liberalization and as a part of efforts towards restructuring of the Power Sector. The Memorandum and Articles of Association of GSECL envisage a wide spectrum of activities to improve the electricity infrastructure of Gujarat. GSECL has initiated its activities in the field of Generation of Power.

The Government of Gujarat (GoG) has also given to the GSECL the status of Independent Power Producer (IPP) with approval to undertake new power projects. The Company commenced it's commercial operation in the year 1998. However, the operations of GSECL were limited to Power Stations units Gandhinagar #5, Wanakbori #7, Utran GBPS & Dhuvaran CCPP till the complete unbundling of erstwhile GEB was undertaken, i.e. up to 31st March 2005.

As a part of the reform process, the Government of Gujarat has unbundled the various functions of GEB. As a result of this unbundling, Gujarat State Electricity Corporation Limited (GSECL) has taken up the responsibility of electricity generation. Electricity Transmission has been entrusted to the already existing company - GETCO. Distribution network in the state has been split up among four distribution companies, which cater to the northern, central, southern, and western parts of the state respectively. All these companies have been structured as subsidiaries of a holding company, Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Limited (GUVNL). GUVNL is also the single bulk buyer in the state as well as the bulk supplier to distribution companies. It will also carry out the trading function in the state.

Operation & maintenance of effluent treatment plant for individual industries is challenging task. To overcome the issue of inadequate treatment of waste water, the concept of CETPs were introduced in early 1990s. This was implemented in some of the GIDC estates and clusters of industries located in close proximity. This concept prompted industries individually to treat the waste water to achieve inlet norms of the CETPs, and thus helped to reduce financial and manpower burden on individual industries.

Presently 41 CETPs are there in Gujarat, out of which 33 CETPs are operational and 7 CETPs are either proposed or at commissioning / construction phase and one CETP is ready for commissioning. Out of 33 operating CETPs, 9 CETPs are for treating effluent generated from textile sectors, 2 for electroplating sector while rest are for chemical and other allied industries. The total capacity of 33 operational CETPs of Gujarat is 574.93 MLD.

In Surat we have a CETP plant at Pandesara. CETP plant is biggest plant in a Gujarat state. The plant capacity is 100 MLD (million lakh litre per day) to treatment waste water to useful water.

Gujarat Narmada Valley Fertilizers & Chemicals Limited.(GNFC), is a joint sector enterprise promoted by the Government of Gujarat and the Gujarat State Fertilizers & Chemicals  Ltd.(GSFC). It was set up in Bharuch, Gujarat in 1976. Located at Bharuch in an extremely prosperous industrial belt, GNFC draws on the resources of the natural wealth of the land as well as the industrially rich reserves of the area.

GNFC has kept pace with changing times and its vision is always focused on growth. Even as the Company was implementing its fertilizer complex, plans were underway for expansion and  diversification in related areas. This resulted in the setting up of core chemical and petrochemical   plants such as Methanol, Formic Acid, Nitric Acid and Acetic Acid.

These industrial chemicals are used by a wide range of manufacturers, processors and chemical    operators in India and even abroad. While Methanol finds applications in chemicals, resins etc.,

Formic Acid is used mainly in rubber, textiles, tanneries and pharmaceuticals industries. Both Methanol and Formic Acid are regularly being exported to international markets.

A visit of Uttran Gas Power plant was organized for Electrical engineering department, where students have gained knowledge in practical life and bring a positive change in our thinking and Practical behavior regarding Education and specially Engineering.

The visit of NPCIL Kakrapar was arranged on 17th september 2022. About 40 students of Electrical Engineering Department had visited the power station where students have gained practical knowledge about working of power plant and different instruments used in Power plant.

A visit of Ukai dam and Hydro power plant was organized specially for Electrical department (4th and 6th sem students),for gain knowledge about Working of Power plant.

Electrical engineering department Student with faculties namely Prof. Hardik Patel, Prof. Divyang Patel, Prof. Purvang Rathod , Prof. Utkarsh Solanaki , and Lab Assistant Jigar Kayasth went to APMC, Surat for visit of Biogas plant at “Akshar Biotech Pvt. Ltd.” on dated 21th March, 2022.

A visit of Ukai Thermal Power station was arranged on 19-12-2020. Four Faculty members of electrical engineering Department had visited the power station where faculty member have enhanced their knowledge on working of power station. Power station has installed capacity of 1110 MW. 

A visit of 220 KV Substation GETCO Navsari was arranged on 02/08/2019. 30 students ( 5th sem and 7th sem) of  Electrical Engineering Department had visited the Substation where Students have gained practical knowledge about working of Power Plant and different instruments used in Power Plant.

A visit of Shree Chalthan Vibhag Khand Udyog Sahakari Mandali Limited Chalthan was arranged on 15/02/2019. 26 students of 4th sem and 6th sem Electrical Engineering Department had visited the factory.
