About Department

The department was established in 2012 with an aim to be a global center of excellence in the area of Chemical Engineering. The department strives to industrial environment by providing industrial visits, expert lectures, consultancy projects, etc. Moreover, seminar and workshop is organized frequently to sharpen up the students’ technical knowledge. The department has state of art laboratory to provide practices in the field of Chemical Engineering. Students are involved in significant number of industry defined projects where they get a chance to solve the problem for industries. In order to develop, promote and support research and technology based products in chemical engineering field; the department has signed MOUs’ with industries like Shiv Silica Pvt Ltd (Ankleshwar), Spectrum Dyes and Chemicals Ltd (Palsana).


The department has experienced and qualified faculties, who are engaged in various projects such as solid waste minimization and waste water treatment.


Chemical Engineering Department in association with IIChE-ARC has started IIChE student chapter, on 10th Jan 2017 for the students. The IIChE student chapter helps student to get technical knowledge and awareness among them regarding to the new technologies and innovation in the field of chemical engineering.


Students of the department have secured top rank in GTU examinations and also it rated as a top three position in a south Gujarat zone. The department students have participated and earned top positions in various technical and non-technical events such as IIT, Mumbai driven flowsheet making in DWSIM, GCPC, Gandhinagar award for best project, state level cultural events, etc.

Program Educational Objectives

PEO1: To provide chemical engineering graduates with a well-built technical base as well as communication skills that

            will enable them to have successful careers in a broad range of industrial and professional environments.

PEO2: To prepare chemical engineering students for rapidly modifying technological environments.

PEO3: To establish a strong sense of belief in human dignity, science and professionalism in such a way that they can

            conduct morally and proficiently regarding technological impact in societal issues.

Program Specific Outcomes

PSO1: The program is designed to give students a strong foundation in chemical engineering and their applications in

            the field of commodity chemicals, specialty, petrochemicals and other relevant areas.

PSO2: Should have an ability to apply technical knowledge for handling of unit operations & unit processes.

PSO3: Should have the capability to design, scale up and operation for variety of chemical engineering products.
